BREAKING: Aita’s New Single Release Date Postponed!

The new single by gospel Artist, Aita slated for release on March 1, 2014 has been postponed by 3 weeks! This could not be unconnected with the fact that the Music Video, which was expected to be released simultaneously, has not been completed.

Competent source from KingZion Records have it that the bitter cold currently being experienced in the North East of the USA could be responsible for the delay because according to gist, the last time an attempt to shoot a video outdoors resulted in the Artist falling sick wit cold.

Another scheduled recording for today was also cancelled because the temperatures dropped to 13 degrees in Washington DC Metropolitan Area; the frigid Artic Air has struck again in the North Eastern part of the country. The National Weather Service advise that some places from the central U.S. to the Ohio and Mississippi Valleys could be having some frosty high temperatures, as low 20 to 30 degrees below normal.

However, Naija Chit-Chat can exclusively reveal that the Rhythm of Gospel Awards Nominee's much expected single is titled Hero From Zero, which is dedicated to those who have been looked down upon yet conquered adversities.

"Thou Shall Not Wear Bras Nor Panties To Church" - Pastor Rev. Njohi

When we hear the world is gradually coming to and, we are often reminded that it is indeed coming to an end fast! If it is not a Pastor sleeping with members, it is a parent sleeping with a child or if it is not a child dishonoring parents, it will be people lusting after money with reckless abandon; the list goes on and on.

Gist reaching us reveal that female members of a church in Dandora, Kenya, “Lord’s Propeller Redemption Church” has been reportedly directed, instructed, ordered (or give it whatever name) by their Senior “Pastor”, Pastor Rev. Njohi to henceforth stop coming to church wearing Bras and Panties. According to this disillusioned “Man of God”, “when people go to church, they need to be free in body and spirit in order to receive Christ.”

He also allegedly warned the congregation of dire consequences for failure to uphold the new law. I wonder how they are going to ensure the congregation follows this new law.

We at Naija Chit-Chat are sure people will not stop going to the church and due to their gullibility, women in particular will heed to this absurd and weird injunction.

Meanwhile, angry residents in the town, Dandora Phase 2 on Wednesday vandalized the church was spreading immorality.

Pastor Michael Mulama, Head of the Church claimed that he had been robbed Sh80,000 and mobile phones after the mob frog marched him to the Kinyago Police Station. However teh Police say they cannot press charges because the pastor is yet to make a formal statement.

Now sincerely, is this world not coming to end?

1. The Sacrifice of Albinos in Order to Become "Invisible" to the Human Eye

Albinism is a genetic disorder that impairs normal skin pigmentation and afflicts more than 200,000 Tanzanians. They are called “muzungu,” which is Swahili for “white man,” or “zeru zeru,” meaning “ghost.”

The phenomenon is not limited to Tanzania, of course, as all over Africa, in varying intensity, Albinos are often hunted down and killed by locals under the instruction of witchdoctors. Sometimes it's for “revenge” for natural misfortunes, for use in medicine, or to become “invisible” to the human eye.

The taking of body parts is called “muti,” or potion. People of light complexion are believed to make strong “muti.” It is believed that if a body part is cut while the victim is still alive, then the increased pain makes the “muti” all the more powerful.

The mistaken belief that albino body parts have magical powers has driven thousands of Albinos in these sectors of the African continent into hiding, fearful of losing their lives and limbs to unscrupulous dealers who can make up to US$75,000 selling a complete dismembered corpse. Wealthy buyers use the parts as talismans to bring them wealth and good fortune.

People with albinism in Tanzania are not only brutally mutilated and tortured, but they're also killed or buried alive with deceased tribal chiefs so as not to leave them in the grave alone. (Source)

2. The Indian Couple Who Kidnapped and Sacrificed a Child in Order to Have Their Own Child (2003)

In 2003, Madan and Murti Simaru, a married couple from Uttar Pradesh, India, were desperate for a son but nature failed to provide them with one. So, they decided to see a tantric guru. Unfortunately the outcome could hardly have been more shocking.

The guru said that they should kidnap a boy and sacrifice him on the banks of the river.

Acting on the tantrik's instructions, the couple arranged the kidnapping of Monu Kumar, a 6-year-old neighbor. Then, as the tantrik led them in chanting mantras, they mutilated and killed the boy on the bank of an irrigation canal. Mr. Simaru allegedly completed the fertility ritual by washing in the child's blood.

The Simarus already have a daughter, but like countless other couples in this male-dominated society, they yearned for a son to look after them in old age and carry the family name.

3. The Bangladeshi Man Who was Beheaded by Laborers to "Redden Bricks" After a Fortune Teller Suggested a Sacrifice (2010)

In March 2010, the owners of a brickyard in Bangladesh became concerned that bricks were losing their sought-after reddish hue, so they decided to consult a fortune teller.

The seer suggested that the brickfield needed a "human sacrifice." Therefore, the owners ordered four of their workers to kill one of their fellow laborers. The victim, a 26-year-old man, was killed and his head was baked in a oven.

Of course, the four workers, the owners, and the fortune teller were arrested and prosecuted for murder. (Source)

4. The Farmers Who Killed a Girl and Removed Her Liver as an Offering to Ensure a Better Harvest (2011)

In October 2011, Lalita Tati, a 7-year-old Indian girl, was dismembered by Ignesh Kujur and Padam Sukku, two farmers who killed the girl and removed her liver as an offering in a ritual sacrifice to ensure a better harvest.

The men were described as "tribals," a term referring to the region's indigenous people, most of whom remain mired in poverty and illiteracy. If a victim is under 12 years of age, then local mythology believes that crops will flourish following a sacrifice.

5. The Liberian Commander Who Practiced Human Sacrifice and Cannibalism to Increase His Power (1979-1993)

Milton Blahyi is a former feared rebel commander in Liberia's brutal civil war who was initiated as a tribal priest and participated in his first human sacrifice at the age of eleven. During the course of the ritual, Blahyi says that the "Devil" told him that he would become a great warrior and that he should continue to practice human sacrifice and cannibalism to increase his power. Later, the Krahn elders appointed him as high priest, a position that would lead him to become the spiritual advisor to Liberian President Samuel Doe.

Blahyi stopped fighting in 1996, saying God appeared to him and told him that he was doing Satan's work. So, he became an Evangelist preacher. Now, Blahyi, 42, is the President of the End Time Train Evangelistic Ministries Inc., with headquarters in Liberia.

There are numerous rumors of human sacrifices during the 1979-93 conflict, but Blahyi was never punished for his crimes. The Truth Commission's only mandate was to investigate the crimes. 6. Mapuche Indians Who Sacrificed a Boy in Order to Placate Continuing Quakes in Chile (1960)

In July 1960, the continuing quakes in southern Chile forced Mapuche Indians of the Lago Budi community to sacrifice a boy between the age of five or six and offer his heart to the sea in order to placate the gods. When police arrested two of the Indians, they explained, "We were asking for calm in the sea and on the earth." Of course, the calm did not come.

According to investigative journalist Patrick Tierney in his book The Highest Altar: Unveiling the Mystery of Human Sacrifice, the child-victim, José Luis Painecur, had his arms and legs removed, and his body was stuck into the sand of the beach like a stake. The waters of the Pacific Ocean then carried the body out to sea. On that occasion, Juan Pañán and Juan José Painecur (the victim's grandfather) were accused as perpetrators of this terrible fact.

The sacrifice was rumored to take place at the behest of local machi Juana Namuncurá Añen. The two men were charged with the crime and confessed, but later recanted. They were released after two years. A judge ruled that those involved in these events had "acted without free will, driven by an irresistible natural force of ancestral tradition." 7. The Stoning to Death of Adulterers in Iran

Upon browsing through the internet, one will find that the practice of human sacrifice by several different cultures or religious groups throughout the world to appease the gods, or God, flies in the face of religious idealism.

Unfortunately, in Iran the act of stoning is cloaked in religion since it specifically falls under the dictates of “God's law” for the purpose of fulfilling or abiding by God's will, which makes it a human sacrifice.

Stoning is a recognized form of execution under Iran's penal code, which is based on Islamic Law. Considering that the Quran does not mention stoning as a prescribed method of execution, the practice finds its legality under Iran's debatable interpretation of Sharia law, which is considered by Muslims to be God's law.

So how is stoning carried out? After the convicted individual, who is a female in the vast majority of cases, is wrapped in a white shroud from head to toe and buried in a hole up to her breasts, rocks are then thrown at her head until she dies. Article 104 of Iran's Penal Code specifically states that the appropriate stones for carrying out the killing “not be large enough to kill the person by one or two strikes; nor should they be so small that they could not be defined as stones.” According to reports, anywhere from ten to thirty minutes of pelting the victim's head with rocks by a group of citizens usually accomplishes the goal.

One of the most famous cases is that of Sakineh Mohammedie Ashtiani, a forty-three-year-old mother of two who was convicted of adultery by an Iranian court and was sentenced to death by stoning in 2006. The international publicity, generated through her children, led to numerous diplomatic conflicts between Iran's government and the heads of certain western governments. 8. Two Thousand Children Who were Allegedly Sold to Russia and Buried Under the Rails in Order to Strengthen Them (19th century)

The custom of burying infant children in the foundations of new buildings – a sacrifice to "ground" the building and assuage the gods of earthquakes, floods, and other misfortunes – was well established in ancient and even medieval times. However, nowadays we run into this extraordinary legend about the nineteenth-century Chinese and Russian railway.

According to the legend, as the Siberian Railway approached the northern boundaries of the Chinese Empire, a great amount of excitement was produced in Pekin by the rumor that the Russian minister had applied to the Empress of China for two thousand children to be buried in the roadbed under the rails in order to strengthen it.

The "rumor" can probably be brushed gently to one side, though it says a lot about nineteenth-century China that such a rumor could grow to maturity. Or is this just Russians barbarizing the Chinese with tall tales? (Source 1 | Source 2)

9. The Oklahoma Virgin Who was Nearly Sacrificed to Save the World When Halley's Comet Came (1910)

Perhaps the most intriguing story surviving from the visit of Halley's Comet in 1910 concerns the Oklahoma virgin who was nearly sacrificed to save the world when it came in contact with the Comet's tail. The sheriffs arrived just in time to prevent the sacrifice of a virgin by demented Americans calling themselves "Select Followers."

The story first appeared on May 19, 1910 in at least two newspapers far from the alleged scene of the action in Aline, Oklahoma. However, data didn't match concerning the young lady's age, the place where she was found, and the clothes that she was wearing (or lack thereof). The position of the Oklahoma Historical Society is simply stated. “None of the above considerations confirm or deny the Jane Warfield story.”

It is difficult to prove that something DID NOT happen, but when ALL of the existing evidence is negative, then we can be fairly positive that it did not, but the rumor is in the air. (Source)

10. The Alleged Dark Secret of the Song "London Bridge is Falling Down"

"London Bridge Is Falling Down" is a traditional nursery rhyme and singing game which is found in different versions all over the world. Several theories have been advanced to explain the meaning of the rhyme and the identity of the "fair lady" of the refrain. One of these was based on the idea that the bridge would collapse unless the body of a human sacrifice was buried in its foundation. So "the watchman" of the refrain is actually a human sacrifice who will then watch over the bridge. However, there is no archaeological evidence of any human remains in the foundation of London Bridge.

It's believed that this rumor was started by Alice Bertha Gomme, a leading British folklorist and a pioneer in the study of children's games between 1894 and 1898, and perpetuated by Iona and Peter Opie, a husband-and-wife team of literature folklorists who applied modern techniques to children's literature using this song. WATCH: Man 'Had Sex With Cow While Friend Recorded It' - Animal Dead And Three Cars Written Off

As the reporter says "You can't make a story like this up. Two men are in jail, one cow is dead and three cars are totalled"

Is this the most bizarre news report ever? 

  A man has been arrested for allegedly having sex with a cow while another man filmed it.
The traumatised cow ran off and was hit by three cars - leaving it dead in the middle of the road.

The three cars were also left badly damaged.
Or, as the matter-of-fact WTNH-TV News 8 reporter Bob Wilson succinctly says: "You can't make a story like this up. Two men are in jail, one cow is dead and three cars are totalled."

Wilson and his Connecticut-based TV crew actually arrived DURING the incident, reporting that one of the men "took off" when he spotted the journalists.

They recorded the whole seedy incident, but thankfully we've been spared that pleasure because, as Wilson again puts it: "The man was naked and covered in jello"

After the incident at 4am in the morning, the cow ran into the middle of Highway 1039 where it collided with three cars. Two of the drivers were taken to hospital.

Cow sex: Both Reid Fontaine, left, and Michael Jones face charges of sexual misconduct

New York State Police have arrested Reid Fontaine, 31, and Michael Jones, 33, for 'sexual misconduct' with the cow on a farm in Hermiker, New York.
Fontaine - a school IT system employee - has since resigned following his arrest, according to Superintendent Kathleen C Greider.

Police said the incident was discovered by a farmer who set up a video camera in his barn in an effort to determine why his cows were acting anxious and not producing milk as usual, police said.

The farmer called police after seeing the video of the alleged sexual assault of the cow.
Police have looked into whether any similar reports have been filed  but have so far found nothing.

Nigeria School Attack: Fury At Military Over Yobe Deaths

Residents of a town in north-east Nigeria are furious at the Nigerian security forces for withdrawing checkpoints ahead of a bloody attack by Islamist militants on a local school.

At least 29 teenage boys died in the raid, blamed on Boko Haram, on a rural boarding school in Yobe state.

Residents say soldiers guarding a nearby checkpoint were mysteriously withdrawn just before the attack.

Another checkpoint on the outskirts of town was also withdrawn a week ago.

The authorities have confirmed 29 deaths, but the AFP news agency has reported 42 dead and other sources have claimed even higher death tolls following the raid on Monday night on the school in Buni Yadi town.

Ibrahim Gaidam, the governor of Yobe state which has a mainly Muslim population, has also criticised the security forces for their extremely slow response.

"It is unfortunate that up to five hours when this massacre took place, there were no security agents around to stop or contain the situation," he said in a statement.

 
'Abandon education'

The attackers reportedly hurled explosives into student residential buildings, sprayed gunfire into rooms and hacked a number of students at the secondary school to death.

"Some of the students' bodies were burned to ashes," Police Commissioner Sanusi Rufai said of the raid on the Federal Government College of Buni Yadi.

Most of the school was burned to the ground and at least 11 students were seriously injured.

All the victims were boys - female students were told to go home, get married and abandon education, said teachers at the school.

The government has vowed to defeat the militants

Boko Haram has been accused of numerous attacks in the north including one earlier this month in Borno

 

Boko Haram, whose name means "Western education is sin", has attacked dozens of schools in north-east Nigeria, since it began it began its bloody fight for an Islamic state in the north of the country in 2009.

'Deranged'

The group has not claimed responsibility for the attack.

Last September, 40 students were killed at an agricultural college during another night-time raid, and 300 people have been killed this month alone in attacks blamed on it.

Nigeria's military said on Tuesday it was pursuing the attackers.

"We assure all law-abiding citizens that we will continue to do what is necessary to protect lives and property," a statement said.

President Goodluck Jonathan condemned the killings as "heinous, brutal and mindless", labelling the perpetrators "deranged terrorists and fanatics who have clearly lost all human morality and [who have] descended to bestiality".

The BBC's Isa Sanusi, from the Hausa service, says Boko Haram tends to attack schools in the mainly Muslim north that teach Nigeria's national curriculum, which the militants consider to be Western.

Mr Jonathan declared a state of emergency in Yobe and two other northern states in May in an attempt to quell the insurgency.

He has defended the army's record, saying the militants have been confined to a small area near the border with Cameroon.

A doctor entered the hospital in hurry after being called in for an  urgent surgery. He answered the call asap, changed his clothes &  went directly to the surgery block.

He found the boy’s father pacing in the hall waiting for the doctor.
On seeing him, the dad yelled: “Why did you take all this time to  come? Don’t you know that my son’s life is in danger? Don’t you have  any sense of responsibility?”

The doctor smiled & said: “I am sorry, I wasn’t in the  hospital & I came as fast as I could after receiving the call…… And  now, I wish you’d calm down so that I can do my work”

“Calm down?! What if your son was in this room right now, would you calm down? If your own son dies now what will you do??” said the father angrily
The doctor smiled again & replied: “I  will say what Job said in the Holy Book
“From dust we came & to  dust we return, blessed be the name of God”. Doctors cannot prolong  lives. Go & intercede for your son, we will do our best by God’s  grace”
“Giving advises when we’re not concerned is so easy” Murmured the father.

The surgery took some hours after which the doctor went out happy, “Thank goodness!, your son is saved!” And without waiting for the father’s reply he carried on his way running. “If you have any questions, ask the nurse!!”

“Why is he so arrogant? He couldn’t wait so*me minutes so  that I ask about my son’s state” Commented the father when seeing the  nurse minutes after the doctor left.

The nurse answered, tears coming down her face: “His son died  yesterday in a road accident, he was at the burial when we called him  for your son’s surgery. And now that he saved your son’s life, he left  running to finish his son’s burial.”

 

MORAL: "Never judge anyone….. because you never know how their life is & what they’re going through.

California Couple Strikes Gold After Finding $10million of 19th Century Coins Buried On Their Property

• The lucky unnamed couple in their 40s stumbled on the historic find on their property last spring
• The gold coins dating from 1847 to 1894 were stashed in eight cans along a trail the couple had walked for years
• The once in a lifetime hoard is likely the most valuable ever found in the United States

A Northern California couple out walking their dog in February 203 on their Gold Country property stumbled across a modern-day bonanza: $10million in rare, mint-condition gold coins buried in the shadow of an old tree.
Nearly all of the 1,427 coins, dating from 1847 to 1894, are in uncirculated, mint condition, said David Hall, co-founder of Professional Coin Grading Service of Santa Ana, which recently authenticated them.

Although the face value of the gold pieces only adds up to about $27,000, some of them are so rare that coin experts say they could fetch nearly $1million apiece.

'I don't like to say once-in-a-lifetime for anything, but you don't get an opportunity to handle this kind of material, a treasure like this, ever,' said veteran numismatist Don Kagin, who is representing the finders. 'It's like they found the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow.'

Kagin, whose family has been in the rare-coin business for 81 years, would say little about the couple other than that they are husband and wife, are middle-aged and have lived for several years on the rural property where the coins were found. He first met the couple last April.

They have no idea who put the the coins there, he said.

The pair are choosing to remain anonymous, Kagin said, in part to avoid a renewed gold rush to their property by modern-day prospectors armed with metal detectors.

They are a self-employed couple in their 40s.

'The family and the attorneys researched who might have put them there, and they came up with nothing,' Kagin said.

'The nearest we can guess is that whoever left the coins might have been involved in the mining industry.'

They also don't want to be treated any differently, said David McCarthy, chief numismatist for Kagin Inc. of Tiburon.

'Their concern was this would change the way everyone else would look at them, and they're pretty happy with the lifestyle they have today,' he said.

They plan to put most of the coins up for sale through Amazon while holding onto a few keepsakes. They'll use the money to pay off bills and quietly donate to local charities, Kagin said.

Before they sell them, they are loaning some to the American Numismatic Association for its National Money Show, which opens Thursday in Atlanta.

Nollywood Actor, Emeka Ike Evicted From House

Nollywood Actor and school proprietor, Emeka Ike has been thrown out of his rented apartment in Magodo GRA, Ikeja, Lagos, over his inability to pay an accumulated three years rent of N8.5 million.

The Twin Duplex located at 1, Raji Oladimeji Street, Magodo GRA, was until his ejection, used by Emeka to run his business.
 

Emeka had in 2007 diversified by establishing a secondary school named St Nicholas College and decided to hire the premises on a five-year lease agreement from an 87-year-old retiree, Chief Samuel Agboola Akintan at the rate of N2 million per annum for the first two years and N3 million annually for the remaining three years, bringing the total rent of five years to N13 million.

Reports have it that Emeka was able to get his landlord accept a deposit of N2 million with a promise to pay the rest later. Trouble, however, started when a year after moving in, the popular Actor began to default and at a point issued a dud cheque of N1.5 million.

To force Emeka to pay his money and eject him from the property, Chief Akintan through his company, Samak Investments Ltd, had to drag the Actor to the Ikeja Magistrate court where he was ordered out of the house.

BREAKING: Nigerian Islamists Kill 29 Pupils In Boarding School Attack

Gunmen from Islamist group Boko Haram stormed a boarding school in northeast Nigeria overnight and killed 29 pupils, many of whom died in flames as the school was burned to the ground, police and the military said on Tuesday.

"Some of the students bodies were burned to ashes," Police Commissioner Sanusi Rufai said of the attack on the Federal Government college of Buni Yadi, a secondary school in Yobe state, near the state's capital city of Damaturu.

All those killed were boys. No girls were touched, Rufai said.

The Islamists, whose struggle for an Islamic state in northern Nigeria has killed thousands and made them the biggest threat to security in Africa's top oil producer, increasingly are preying on the civilian population.

Boko Haram, whose name means "Western education is sinful" in the northern Hausa language, have frequently attacked schools in the past. A similar attack in June in the village of Mamudo left 22 students dead.

More than 200 people were killed in two attacks last week, one in which militants razed a whole village and shot panicked residents as they tried to flee.

The failure of the military to protect civilians is fuelling anger in the northeast, the region worst affected by the four- and-a-half-year-old insurgency. An offensive ordered by President Goodluck Jonathan in May has failed to crush the rebels and triggered reprisals against civilians.
A military spokesman for Yobe state, Captain Lazarus Eli, confirmed the attack and said "Our men are down there in pursuit of the killers."

Addressing a news conference on Monday, Jonathan defended the military's record, saying it had had some successes against Boko Haram. He also said Nigeria was working with the Cameroon authorities to try to prevent the militants from mounting attacks in Nigeria and then fleeing over the border.

The military shut the northern part of the border with Cameroon on the weekend. The insurgents mostly occupy the remote, hilly Gwoza area bordering Cameroon, from where they attack civilians they accuse of being pro-government. They have also started abducting scores of girls, a new tactic reminiscent of Uganda's cult-like Lord's Resistance Army in decades past.

Annette Larkins is in perfect health and doesn’t take aspirin.  In fact, she doesn’t take any medication at all, at least by the conventional modern definition. She is a fanatic of REAL medicine and lives by the quote, “Let food be thy medicine and medicine be thy food.” ― Hippocrates

Mrs. Larkins grows a plethora of fruit, vegetables, and herbs around and inside of her house.  She collects rainwater and makes gallons of juice from what she grows. Wheatgrass is one of her specialties. She grows her own and drinks the juice regularly. Yet another anecdotal case of raw food and juicing providing overall health and endless youth.

Uganda Becomes Latest African Country To Sign Anti-Gay Laws

Uganda has become the latest African country to pass the Anti-Gay law. Below is President Yoweri Museveni reaction and reply to President Barack Obama.

• First-time offenders to get 14 years in jail
• Repeat offenders to get life imprisonment as well as acts involving a minor, a disabled person or where one partner is infected with HIV
• The bill originally proposed the death penalty for some homosexual acts, but that was later removed amid international criticism

I have seen the statement H.E President Obama of the USA made in reaction to my statement that I was going to sign the anti-homosexual Bill, which I made at Kyankwanzi.

Before I react to H.E. Obama’s statement, let me, again, put on record my views on the issue of homosexuals (ebitiingwa, bisiyaga in some of our dialects).

Right from the beginning of this debate, my views were as follows:

1. I agreed with the MPs and almost all Ugandans that promotion of homosexuality in Uganda must be criminalized or rather should continue to be criminalized because the British had already done that;

2. those who agreed to become homosexuals for mercenary reasons (prostitutes) should be harshly punished as should those who paid them to be homosexual prostitutes; and

3. exhibitionism of homosexual behavior must be punished because, in this part of the World, it is forbidden to publicly exhibit any sexual conduct (kissing, etc) even for heterosexuals; if I kissed my wife of 41 years in public, I would lose elections in Uganda.

The only point I disagreed on with some of the Members of Parliament (MPs) and other Ugandans was on the persons I thought were born homosexual. According to the casual observations, there are rare deviations in nature from the normal. You witness cases like albinos (nyamagoye), barren women or men (enguumba), epa (breastless women) etc. I, therefore, thought that similarly there were people that were born with the disorientation of being attracted to the same sex. That is why I thought that that it was wrong to punish somebody on account of being born abnormal. That is why I refused to sign the Bill and, instead, referred it to our Party (the NRM) to debate it again. In the meantime, I sought for scientific opinions on this matter.

I am grateful to Ms. Kerry Kennedy of the USA who sent me opinions by scientists from the USA saying that there could be some indications that homosexuality could be congenital. In our conference, I put these opinions to our scientists from the Department of Genetics, the School of Medicine and the Ministry of Health. Their unanimous conclusion was that homosexuality, contrary to my earlier thinking, was behavioural and not genetic. It was learnt and could be unlearnt. I told them to put their signatures to that conclusion which they did. That is why I declared my intention to sign the Bill, which I will do. I have now received their signed document, which says there is no single gene that has been traced to cause homosexuality. What I want them to clarify is whether a combination of genes can cause anybody to be homosexual. Then my task will be finished and I will sign the Bill.

After my statement to that effect which was quoted widely around the World, I got reactions from some friends from outside Africa. Statements like: “it is a matter of choice” or “whom they love” which President Obama repeated in his statement would be most furiously rejected by almost the entirety of our people. It cannot be a matter of choice for a man to behave like a woman or vice-versa. The argument I had pushed was that there could be people who are born like that or “who they are”, according to President Obama’s statement.

I, therefore, encourage the US government to help us by working with our Scientists to study whether, indeed, there are people who are born homosexual. When that is proved, we can review this legislation. I would be among those who will spearhead that effort. That is why I had refused to sign the Bill until my premise was knocked down by the position of our Scientists.

I would like to discourage the USA government from taking the line that passing this law will “complicate our valued relationship” with the USA as President Obama said. Countries and Societies should relate with each other on the basis of mutual respect and independence in decision making.

“Valued relationship” cannot be sustainably maintained by one Society being subservient to another society. There are a myriad acts the societies in the West do that we frown on or even detest. We, however, never comment on those acts or make them preconditions for working with the West. Africans do not seek to impose their views on anybody. We do not want anybody to impose their views on us. This very debate was provoked by Western groups who come to our schools and try to recruit children into homosexuality. It is better to limit the damage rather than exacerbate it.
