Al Qaeda-Linked Jihadists Accused of Hanging Victims On Crosses

Al Qaeda-backed jihadists are hanging the bodies of executed enemies on crosses crucifixion-style in a town in Northern Syria, according to a Syrian opposition group.
The executions reportedly took place Tuesday in Raqqa, where the extremist group Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant, or ISIS, an Al Qaeda-linked network, has taken over the city, according to Abu Ibrahim Alrquaoui, who identifies himself as a founder of a group called Raqqa is Being Slaughtered Silently.
“It’s very dangerous. They threaten us directly and want to kill us.”
- Ibrahim Alrquaoui, Syrian dissident
Alrquaoui said those killed were rebels that had previously fought against the Syrian government of Bashir al-Assad. “It’s very dangerous,” Alrquaoui, told FoxNews.com in an interview. “They threaten us directly and want to kill us.”
Alrquaoui said he witnessed the executions himself, and took photographs that have since been posted on the group’s Facebook page, and are now being circulated on the Internet.
The series of photographs show different men bound to crosses in what appears to be a public square area, though it could not be independently confirmed that the subjects were dead or, if they were, by what means the executions had been carried out. The pictures do not show any apparent signs of the men nailed to a cross, nor are there any obvious, visible signs of fatal wounds.
ISIS has ruled over Raqqa for the last year, killing its remaining rebel population and demolishing national relics, according to multiple reports. “They want to stay in control.  Everything they do is to scare people,” Alrquaoui said. “That’s why they kill people publicly.”
Jihadists operating in Syria have previously been accused of shooting people in the head, then affixing them to crosses. In this latest case, the ISIS charged the seven men with espionage and attempted assassination of the group’s leaders, according to Alrquaoui.
Many Syrian cities like Raqqa have fallen into the hands of Islamic terrorists. More than 150,000 people have died since the civil war began in March 2011.

Missing Girl Found Bound Under Policeman’s Bed

A Mobile policeman identified as Gbuchenge Augustine with Force number 400823 in Lagos, is on the run following a foiled  attempt to allegedly use an eight-year old girl for ritual.
The girl identified as Amarachi, was found under his bed in his one-room apartment at Olufowobi Street, Ikosi Ketu with her mouth gagged and legs and hands tied. When she was eventually rescued  by neighbours, little Amarachi had injuries on her skull and neck.
Trouble started for the policeman in the evening of Thursday last week when the parents of the girl, Mr. and Mrs. Patrick Abakwan, who had gone out for their businesses returned and did not find their daughter, Amarachi at home.
The girl’s father, a driver with Strands Communications Limited, told journalists that when he returned from work, he noticed that Amarachi did not come to greet him and when he  queried his wife on her whereabouts, he was told that she was asleep.
“I demanded to see her and when they went to call her, she was nowhere to be found. Another little child in the compound later said she saw “Oga Olopa” (the policeman) carrying Amarachi in his arms from their room where she was sleeping, to his room. You know, as a child, nobody took her seriously but the child insisted that Amarachi was in the policeman’s room.
“The policeman, we gathered, had before the incident, sent Amarachi to buy Akara (bean cake) and  recharge card at different times before she went to sleep.Mr Abakwan said the policeman, who sat outside his room smoking, got up and pretending to be angry, insisted that he was falsely accused.
IGP Mohammed Abubakar
It was gathered that the suspect used the opportunity of the ensuing confusion, to escape from the crowd that had gathered in their residence, and had not returned as at press time. The parents of the girl later reported the incident at the  Ketu Police Station and investigation has commenced.
According to the girl’s father, the Police detective sent to their home, peeped through the window of the suspect’s room and found two human legs struggling to be freed. It was gathered that the crowd at the scene later broke into the policeman’s room and set the girl free.
“The man had twisted her neck and used an object to break her skull thinking that she would die in the process but God saved her. My interest was to save my daughter first. We rushed her to Dafe Medical Hospital where they refused to admit her,” the father narrated. The state Police Spokesperson,Ngozi Braide said the Police have started investigation to ascertain if the suspect is truly a policeman.

New Bride Rushed To Hospital Because Of 2 Hours Orgasm (WITH VIDEO)

A new bride was left exhausted in a hospital emergency room, after she couldn’t stop orgasming for more than TWO HOURS.
Doctors were left baffled by the bizarre incident, captured on camera by the woman’s husband.
In the video uploaded to YouTube, the woman is seen struggling to speak as she has repeated orgasms while sitting in her hospital bed, with medics handing her Valium in a bid to get her body to relax.
She tells the doctor: “For the first 10 minutes I was like, this is awesome but now it’s exhausting.
“This is so embarrassing. I will never forget this.”
But while reasuuring her patient that emergency room staff are used to all sorts of unusual situations, the doctor seemed able to offer little help – saying that when she tried to research similar cases on the internet, her computer broke.
And her husband of just a few months just seems amused.
When the doctor says “he’s getting a kick out of this!”, he replies, “she asked me to do this!”

Asylum Seeker To Be Sent Back To Nigeria Despite Fears Her Two Young Daughters Will Be Circumcised

An asylum seeker is to be sent back to Nigeria in a matter of days despite fears that her two young daughters will be circumcised in the country against their will by members of her own family.

Almost 20,000 people have signed a petition calling on the Home Office to reconsider their decision to deport 31-year-old Afusat Saliu, herself a victim of female genital mutilation [FGM], and her two daughters, Bassy, three, and Rashidat, one, to Nigeria. The family currently live in Leeds but have been asked to leave the country by Friday.

The campaign echoes the national support garnered for A-level student Yashika Bageerathi, 19, who was deported to Mauritius after 175,000 people had signed her petition. But while her last ditch legal attempt failed, campaigners are hoping Ms Saliu’s can be won.

Solicitor Ben Davison, head of immigration advice at Ison Harrison Solicitors said he had written directly to the Home Office on Tuesday, “setting out why we believe their decision to remove Afusat and her daughters is wrong in law.” Leeds MP Greg Mulholland and FGM campaigner Leyla Hussein are amongst those supporting her campaign.

Ms Saliu, whose youngest daughter was born in England, said she wants to protect her children from going through what she experienced at the hands of cutters. “It has affected me my whole life. There is no feeling there and it has been painful,” she told The Independent. “I don’t have a boyfriend and I don’t intend to. It was really difficult for me to have my daughters. The pain was very strong. I never enjoyed my teenage life; I felt pain when I started my period. It’s not good at all. I am trying my best to fight for my children. It’s so scary. I don’t want them going through the same pain I went through.”

Ms Saliu fled Nigeria in 2011 after her stepmother told her she would have to get her elder daughter, Bassy, cut. She added that her parents were forcing her to marry a man 40 years her senior, who would also pose a threat to her and her daughters, if she returned.

“I don’t feel I’ll have the opportunity to protect them from the pain or trauma over there,” she said. “I don’t want circumcision to be done on them, but it’s [the will of] my family. I can’t control that. It’s mostly done by the female – the mother or grandmothers.”

Ms Saliu said she first applied for asylum in 2012, but it was denied. A subsequent appeal has been dismissed. She added that the Government told her that she will now only be able appeal from outside the UK.

Mr Mulholland said he is “very concerned” to hear about “the treatment Ms Saliu has received from the Home Office”. He told The Independent he has written to the UK Border Agency and asked that that they urgently investigate her case and put deportation on hold until fresh evidence has been examined. “It is extremely worrying that the Home Office are trying to deport her to Nigeria, despite the threat of violence she faces, and the threat of FGM to her two young daughters, which sadly Afusat has already been a victim of,” he added.

Ms Saliu’s campaign has garnered particular support from students at Leeds University, where she recently gave a talk about her experience as a victim of FGM. Flo Bateson, the president of the Amnesty International Society at Leeds University Union, who organised the event, said she was a “lovely woman” and “valued in the Leeds community”. She added: “It’s heartbreaking that there is even the possibility of her two girls being faced with forced FGM. The UK government have publicly pledged to end the practise worldwide, we have the responsibility to protect Bassy and Rashidat and not allow their deportation to Nigeria.”

A Home Office spokesperson said the UK has a “proud history of granting asylum to those who need our protection and we consider every claim for asylum on its individual merits.”

She added: “We believe that those who fail to establish a genuine fear of persecution should return home voluntarily. If they do not, we will enforce their removal.”

“I’m Ready To Expose Boko Haram Sponsor” – Popular Clairvoyant

A popular clairvoyant in Adamawa State, Alhaji Alhassan Mohammed Goni, a.k.a. AMG, has threatened to expose the sponsors of Boko Haram insurgency if the killer group does not suspend the current bloodletting and hostilities in the country within two weeks.
The spiritualist, who expressed sympathy for President Goodluck Jonathan, said:
“My vision always tells me whenever the Boko Haram are about to launch attacks but I was always incapacitated to stop them because I was not given express permission by the authorities to do so; but through my intervention, the intensity of the attacks is minimal.”
He said among those sponsoring Boko Haram activities are top politicians and traditional rulers… Goni added that having been disturbed by the bloodletting and seemingly inexorable hostilities by the group, he deemed it fit to come forward, and warned that if those behind Boko Haram fail to change their ways, he will soon expose them.
He said he is aware of the various nocturnal meetings held by the sect before launching attacks but was not able to curtail their attacks as he had not been permitted to do so. He condemned the recent bombing in Abuja and urged government to take more security measures like mounting of CCTV cameras.
He called for the probe of the Chinese company handling the installation of CCTV cameras in Abuja, adding that the contract should be revoked and handed over to a more competent company.
“Government should also look at ways of giving employment to civilian JTF in the armed forces, police and other para military organizations so that they can continue to actively contribute their quota in protecting their father land”, Goni stressed.

True Confession: My Experience At The Church Of Satan – Frederck Rawlins

Forensic criminologist and security co- ordinator at the American University of Nigeria, YolaDr. Lionel Von Frederck Rawlins explains his experience at the church of satan, while on the book he wrote on the subject. He said the book was the thesis for his master’s degree in criminology.

“I was fascinated by cultism and Satanism, witchcraft, voodoo, juju and how they used to kill people,” Rawlins said, explaining further; “They never called it satanic m****r. The Press would call it satanic m****r but the court of law would not because there is no such thing in law.
The court does not have any law that says it is a satanic, cult or juju m****r. “I was fascinated by how these people would commit m****r and keep it secret and no one knows and they get away with it. So in doing that, I had to go interview witches in the US, it’s a legitimate religion so they don’t mind telling people they are witches protected by the constitution.
They go to the church of Satan and they are proud of it. I had to go the Church of Satan. Asked what they do at the church of Satan, Rawlins replied; “They didn’t do anything weird in front of me. “To get in there, I had to apply and they interviewed me. You can’t just walk in because they don’t know who you are or what you want.
“After a couple of months of trying to get in, they finally let me. They worship like everyone else but instead of singing praises to God, they sing praises to Satan and the cross is turned upside down. “The singing was dark and evil but I wanted to interview many of them to see what actually they were about. “The fact is, there are satanists, witches, juju, voodoo etc.
They are all there. Many of them are fraudsters though. They defraud people out of their money but I would not tell people to be afraid to go out and do things because you are not going to find a bunch of people all around the world trying to kill you because Satan told them to,” he said.

"My Father & Mother Are Actually Brother & Sister" Says HARRYSONG

In a shocking revelation, singer, Harrysong told Yes Magazine that he is the product of a brother/sister union... ..When asked why his parents didn't have other kids after him..He said..

" It’s just that after my dad and my mum gave birth to me, they separated and went their different ways. So, my father got married to another woman and also my mother to another man. They separated because I was given birth to by two relations. My father and mother are actually brother and sister. They gave birth to me before they could realize that.

Well, I learnt that when my mother was alive, she met my father. Then she was still in school and they were in the same class and the same village. But she didn’t know that they are closely related. So, I was born based on what our villagers regarded as abomination and therefore they had to separate. Because it was a big abomination, so they had to separate. Even, they attempted to kill my father in that village, but he fled, because in Warri where I come from, it is a taboo. They termed it incest."

An Exclusive With Nigerian-American Music Rave, JANELIA!

A widely acclaimed player in the music scene in the United States, Nigerian-American, Janelia was caught-up with in Lagos and sat down with Naija Chit-Chat for this revealing exclusive.

Please give us an insight into your person.

I am a Nigerian-American singer, songwriter and a performing artist. Three words to describe me would be creative, personable and compassionate. Basically I’m down to earth, I no dey form. I have a passion for music and I love people, even the not so good ones; I pray for them. I also enjoy cooking and I’m known to host the best house parties, invite only, (she laughs!)

How long have you been into music and what propelled you into it?

I’ve been doing music professionally for 10 years. I have always been drawn to music and the arts as a child and wrote my first song when I was 9 years old. Music is one of my few passions, especially singing live with my band. Making music has always been a part of who I am and will continue to be a part of me.

What’s your genre and who did you decide to go into this style?

My genre of music is a beautiful fusion of soul and Afro-pop (or like we call it in Nigeria, Naija hip-hop). My music embodies the Nigerian-American that I truly am. I have the ability to move fluidly between genres, this is why you will hear funky, soulful and afro rhythms in my song writing and vocal delivery. Now that I have teamed up with some of Nigeria’s A list producers such as Young D and Fliptyce, I feel the sky is not my limit but my starting point.

USA is the music capital of the world, since last year, you have been in Nigeria; why this decision and what do you hope to accomplish outside the US?

After I finished secondary school in Nigeria and decided to further my education in the United States, my plan was to return after my studies so that I may give back to my community and contribute to the progress of Nigeria. It is time to come back home! Other than doing music I am also passionate about helping those that are less fortunate, and want to continue my philanthropy work in Nigeria as I have started in the U.S. I am grateful for God’s blessings in my life and it is simply time to give back to my beloved country. I feel Nigeria needs me and this will become evident as time goes on.

So how has your music been doing in the markets?

My past releases have done well on iTunes for an independent artist. We will see how the Nigerian market will embrace my music in the long run but so far the response has been great and I’m looking forward to even greater responses.

When do you hope to return to the US?

I am what you call a Jet-setter. I fly back and forth across the ocean as necessary; it all depends on what music and my other businesses call for. Nigeria is my home so Nigeria will always be my base.

How do fans get to buy your music.

All my music is available to my fans worldwide through iTunes & most international digital download outlets.  It will soon be available through Caller Tunes, Spinlet and other digital music distribution in Nigeria. Once my album drops later this year it will be available on the streets but for now you can find “Sexy Nana” on many mix tapes on the streets. Also it’s free when you join my official mailing list. I like to provide this free download so that I can have direct access to my fans through my mailing list. I send timely updates to my fans and make sure I respond to their feedback because they are the ones for whom I make music.

CNN Presents Mo Abudu As Africa’s Oprah

CNN has profiled Nigeria’s Mo Abudu, Executive Chairman and CEO of EbonyLife TV and first black woman to own a pan-African TV channel, EbonyLife TV, as one of the continent’s leading women.
‘Mo’ as she is fondly called was interviewed on ‘Leading Women’ – a show that connects it’s audience to extraordinary women in the world – as a talk show host and media owner who presents the vision of a very different Africa. The show celebrates women at the top of their field, exploring their careers, lives and ideas.
With EbonyLife TV, Africa’s first Global Black Entertainment and lifestyle network, Mo has won acclaim for building a TV network creating 1,000 hours of fresh, engaging, original and premium homegrown programming yearly. And there are plans to unveil even more channels – all under the EbonyLife brand.
Calling her “Africa’s Oprah”, CNN notes that Mo Abudu’s greatest achievement and what makes her story remarkable is not just conquering African TV – but doing it without any prior media experience.
“There were many knock backs along the way, many people telling me ‘you can’t do these things,” said the British-born entrepreneur in an interview with CNN’s Stephanie Busari. “But I think what’s important in life is that you believe in yourself and the things you can do.”

No Mugabe, Zimbabawe More Corrupt Than Nigeria, Says Campbell

Ambassador John Campbell, a great critic of Nigeria’s government has waded into the diplomatic spat between Nigeria and Zimbabwe, over President Robert Mugabe’s denigration of Nigeria as a corrupt country. Campbell, a blogger on the website of US Council on Foreign Relations, said contrary to the impression Mugabe created, Zimbabwe is worse than Nigeria as a corrupt nation.
Campbell relied on the Corruption Perception Index published by Transparency International to reach his conclusion. In the last edition, Mugabe’s Zimbabwe was rated 157, while Nigeria was rated 133.
Besides, the 70 year old Campbell, who was US ambassador to Nigeria between 2004 and 2007, described the controversy as needless distractions for the two countries.
Here is the full posting on his Africa In Transition Blog. It is entitled “Zimbabwe and Nigeria: Mirror, Mirror on the Wall, Who is the Most Corrupt of Them All?”
“Robert Mugabe, the poster boy for bad governance in Africa, said last month that Zimbabweans were behaving “like Nigerians” with respect to bribes and corruption. This, he implied, is not a good thing.
“The administration of Nigerian president Goodluck Jonathan was apparently enraged. On April 11, the Nigerian Foreign Ministry called in the senior Zimbabwean envoy in Abuja to protest, characterizing Mugabe’s comments as “vitriolic and denigrating.” According to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN). The ministry’s statement continued, “not only does it not reflect the reality in our country, but to come from a sitting president of a brotherly country is most unkind and very dishonorable.”
“Transparency International’s well-regarded “Corruption Perception Index” lists Nigeria as 133 out of 175 countries, and Zimbabwe at 157. The country ranked one (Denmark and New Zealand tied) is considered the least corrupt, that listed 175 (Somalia, Afghanistan, and North Korea tied) as the most corrupt. So, Mugabe is wrong: Zimbabwe is more corrupt than Nigeria. Nigeria faces the Boko Haram insurrection in the north, ethnic and religious conflict in the Middle Belt, and the prospect of renewed insurgency in the oil patch. Zimbabwe remains an international pariah and faces unresolved succession issues.
“Nigeria may feel especially stung by Mugabe’s comments because it prides itself on the assistance it provided to southern African liberation movements in the days of apartheid in South Africa and Ian Smith’s white-ruled Rhodesia. But, perhaps it is also a useful distraction for both countries to quarrel over which is the more corrupt than to face their numerous other internal challenges.”

Nigerian Students In Malaysia Cry For Justice

Nigerian Students in Malaysia said they are fed up with the constant intimidation, harassment and illegal arrests carried out on them by Malaysian authorities while staffers of the Nigerian High Commission are indifferent in complete disregard of their diplomatic responsibilities of protecting them.
In an open letter to President Goodluck Jonathan, the Nigerian students under the aegis of NANS Asia, catalogued a series of harassments and injustice suffered by them in the hands of the Malaysian police and the judicial authorities. The students even accused their schools of conniving with their ‘harassers’ to deny them of their school fees.
The petition was signed by the association’s president, Prince David O.C Nwaogwugwu.
Nwaogwugwu said the Nigerians “are now constantly being duped of their tuition fees and falsely accused of crimes not committed by the institutions they study in, their apartments being regularly raided even without warrants, blackmailed and set up for the purpose of extortion, falsified evidence accepted by judges against them in courts which are presented by the police and prosecutors, deported by the immigration authorities for the failure of the institutions of learning and the same immigration departments who fail to quickly process the renewal of Visa for these Nigerian students who have handed in their passports for weeks, months and even years”.
He blamed the Nigerian High Commission Staff in Malaysia and Asia at large for being complicit, indirectly in the grave injustice meted out on Nigerian students, in not responding to their plight on time and in being discriminatory when responding.
“There are several cases where police officers in connivance with school security personnel’s, local and foreign agents and lawyers go after students who they believe have financial backing at home. They blackmail such students and threaten to put them in trouble if they do not pay certain amounts of money. Some of the students who refuse to be oppressed by such threats are then arrested, taken to court and false evidence presented against them. In the courts, the prosecutors do not allow the students to speak in protest or self defense. The proceedings in Malaysia courts against Nigerian students are carried out in the Malaysia language of which Nigerians schooling in Malaysia are not mandated by any law to study Malay and therefore do not understand what the prosecutors are telling the judge or what the judge is saying to the court”, Nwaogwugwu said.
Among the cases listed by Nwaogwugwu was that of Nkem Okpa, a research student who was detained for 11 days on mere suspicions three years ago.
There were other cases:
1. Gabriel (2010): Arrested on the street and thrown into a bus with some people who had been arrested for drug possession. He had never met the other people arrested with him before. Gabriel was in Sungai Buloh Prisons until 2013 when the culprit pleaded guilty. Gabriel’s entire life has been ruined for nothing.
2. Oyewole (2013): Student arrested for not being in possession of his passport which had been submitted to his school for visa renewal. The Police went ahead to carry away cloths and electronics in his apartment.
3. Segun (2013): House mate to Oyewole. They were arrested together and their possessions stolen by the police.
4. Adeniji (2013): A student arrested and deported while his passport had been submitted to school for renewal.
5. Victor (2013) Student arrested on the school campus for being in possession of drugs he knew nothing about. His house mate confirmed he was set up. In court, the police presented false evidence against Victor. Victor refusing to be blackmailed by the schools security and the police inspector in charge of the case spent about 3 months in remand until his parents told him to plead guilty and be done with it. The High commission was informed but nothing was done about it.
6. Bartholomew (2013): Arrested for a crime he knew nothing about. Evidence and witnesses prove his innocence but he is still locked up in Jail and the Nigerian High Commission is saying nothing.-Body Number : 313….
7. Umar Garkida (2013): Arrested from his hostel, false evidence of drugs presented in court against him. He has refused to be intimidated to plead guilty and has been in jail since November while the High commission and his school are silent.
8. Fahat Sanda (2013): Arrested from his hostel, false evidence of drugs presented in court against him. He has refused intimidation, refused to plead guilty to a crime not committed and so has been in jail since November. The school and High commission are silent.
9. Umar (2014): Arrested from in front of his hostel by the police. Asked for his passport which he had submitted to the school for renewal of Visa, he stated his case and presented his ID as the Student Rep President alongside his student ID, but the police insisted on arresting him unless he paid some bribe. Umar called Mr Banum the head of the school security to come and identify him as the Student Rep President, but he never came. The police officer then arrested Umar and took him to the station and threatened to put him in trouble. Umar then succumbed to the threat and paid Rm300 to regain his freedom on the spot. On returning to the school premises, Umar confronted Mr Banum to know why he refused coming to identify him but there was no response. He then requested that the money he paid be refunded of which Mr Banum said he will refund him and write a petition against the officer in question. Till date, nothing has been heard about the issue.
10.. Several Nigerian students in February 2014 were arrested within their school premises by the police and immigration personnel’s for not being in possession of their documents which had been submitted to the school and hence immigration for renewal. The School ignored these students for about 2weeks to suffer in detention and the High Commission did nothing.
Nwaogwugwu’s letter also catalogued a number of Nigerian students killed in the country. Among them were:
1. Onoche Martins (March 2012): Master degree student. Killed by Malaysian Police personnel’s after he allegedly outraged the modesty of a 43year old lady by hugging, kissing and exposing himself by 11am. These accusations do not make sense to any sane being. Nothing has been heard from the Nigerian High Commission.

2. Solomon Okolo (March 2013): Student from Delta state. Killed by Malaysian citizens in the presence of Malaysian police officers after crashing his vehicle. His wife was at the scene of the incident and to date, nothing has been heard about that case or the culprits. The High commission is silent.
3. Tunde Adelabu (March 2014): A Student Killed by Malaysia policemen who ran away after shooting him. Later on, the policemen came back and arrested Tunde’s friend who had witnessed the shooting. Today, nobody knows where this boy has been taken to or if he is still alive. The school he attended are now denying he was ever their student. The High commission is still silent.
4. In India on the 25th of March 2014, Two Nigerians were found stabbed on Devli Road, New Delhi. One of them succumbed to injuries and died while the other is at the AIIMS Trauma Centre.
5. In Malaysia, a Nigerian died in detention camp sometime in March. The Nigerian High Commission was invited for the burial or which they attended without contacting the family of this Nigerian. The family of this Nigerian back home believes their son is alive somewhere. The High Commission should give reasons for their action
The students want President Goodluck Jonathan to intervene in their matter.

House Republicans Might Pass Immigration Bills After All

Remember earlier this year when House Republicans said they would deal with immigration reform once the primaries were over? Well, according to The Wall Street Journal, House Speaker John Boehner told a group of donors that they'll pass bills addressing the issue this summer.

At a fundraiser in Las Vegas last month, Boehner told a gorup that he was "hellbent on getting this done this year," as several participants confirmed to the Journal's Laura Meckler. Another member of the House, Virginia Rep. Bob Goodlatte, told a business group in Silicon Valley that he was optimistic about getting something done. Goodlatte suggested that the House would consider five to seven bills that an aide to another representative said would be ready to go in June or July.

There is a very good chance that Boehner was telling donors what they want to hear. The split in the Republican Party is largely between donors and established institutions — who favor moderate policy moves including immigration reform aimed at securing Latino votes for future elections — and the far-right activist base, which supports much stronger restrictions on immigration, political realities notwithstanding. In other words, Boehner might have been telling the donors what they want to hear.

But a timeline of how 2014 has evolved for the GOP suggests that the new report is simply a reversion to form.
  • January 27: The post-primary plan emerges. Meckler also revealed the "wait it out" strategy earlier this year. According to that report, House Republicans wanted to pass immigration reform, but didn't want to lose their jobs. So they developed a plan that involved waiting until at-risk members got past their Republican party primaries — meaning they didn't need to worry about candidates motivating the activist base to vote against them — and then pass a package of reform measures.
  • January 28: The plan shapes up. House Republicans went on a three-day retreat in Maryland to discuss the components of those bills. The debate, as always, was how to meet the needs of the Latino and immigrant communities while not giving the far-right the chance to say they were granting "amnesty" to people who immigrated without following the legal process.
  • January 30: Republicans list their priorities. At the end of the retreat, the party released a list of priorities for any reform packages. Leading the list (which is at right) was border security. But the proposals included measures that would likely meet the needs of those looking for actual reform.
  • February 7: Boehner's bluff. And then either 1) the plan fell apart or 2) Boehner commenced Operation Ignore This Until Summer. At his weekly press conference, he told reporters that Obama couldn't be trusted and reform would be "difficult." This was widely interpreted as a declaration that the party would give up on the idea. I argued that it was a bluff in line with the January 27 plan. [Sound of horn tooting.]
  • April 16: Obama fights with Cantor. Earlier this week, Obama apparently irritated House Republicans with a statement challenging them to act on immigration reform. House Majority Leader Eric Cantor used the moment to repeat Boehner's criticism of Obama — but also indicated that the House wanted Obama to work with them on the issue. They've said this before, many times, but Cantor's statement was not "we will do nothing," as Boehner's was interpreted to mean.
Predicting what House Republicans will do is a fool's errand; Boehner himself has at times over the past two years seemed as though he's not sure what they'll end up doing. But the new Journal report fits squarely into a plan announced in January that lets Republicans keep donors happy and keep their jobs. As always, we will see. But for immigration reform advocates, there's new reason for optimism.

Chicken Breeder Faces Court Over Noisy Cockerel

A chicken breeder is being prosecuted after villagers complained her crowing cockerel keeps them awake at night.
Neighbours of Helen Rogers claim the animal - named Big Bird - is "particularly noisy" and crows "incessantly" from 3am to 11pm.
The early-riser is said to start a chain reaction among other cockerels in the village of Hambledon, in the South Downs National Park, Hants.
Locals complain it keeps them awake and makes their lives a misery.
Winchester City Council - whose officers have visited the site around five times - served Mrs Rogers with a noise abatement notice in August last year.
But the 57-year-old has now been summonsed to Fareham Magistrates' Court accused of breaching the order on three occasions.
Mrs Rogers denies the four-year-old Light Sussex cockerel is a nuisance or crows throughout the night.
And she says she followed the council's advice to cover the coop with a black-out blanket at dusk and remove it no earlier than 9am.
She added: "Several people in the village own cockerels and they all make a noise. That is what cockerels do.
"I don't understand people who live in the countryside and then complain about country noises such as animals and farm machinery.
"We have a school opposite the land where you can hear the children playing, and a church where the bells ring regularly.
"If you don't like this sort of thing you should move to the town or city instead. My cockerel is no more noisy than any other cockerel in the area and it is certainly not a nuisance.
I keep it covered, so it does not crow at unreasonable hours. I am also unsure how anybody can tell the difference between my bird and any other. It is ridiculous and upsetting that I am being taken to court over something like this."
The animal lover breeds rare cockerels, chickens, and ducks on the land, previously known as St Peter's Farm.
It is home to seven ducks, 21 rare breed chickens, three normal chickens, two cockerels, six horses, one rabbit, and two dogs. But Mrs Rogers lives around 20 miles away in Chichester, West Sussex.
She said she had received letters from Winchester City Council in which they said neighbours had complained about the "incessant crowing".
Mrs Rogers added: "One neighbour has said he would like to see Big Bird 'dispatched' but there is no way I am doing that. If I have to I will move him elsewhere, but I won't kill him or give him away."
Councillor Tony Coates, who represents the village on Winchester City Council, said the noise "has been annoying half the village".
He added: "The countryside is noisy, smelly, and occasionally dangerous, and people who live here should put up with that to some extent.
"But this cockerel is an early-riser and particularly noisy. When it crows it starts a chain reaction among the other cockerels in the village. In this instance, it is a nuisance.
"It needs to be kept in a darkened coop, and its perch should be put higher up so it cannot extend its neck and crow."
Caroline Dibden, vice chairwoman of Hambledon Parish Council, said: "It is a particularly noisy cockerel and wakes people up very early in the morning.
"Our single biggest attended parish council meetings are when St Peter's Farm is on the agenda. This particular issue is a real problem because it affects a lot of people."

How Nigerian Youth Stabbed Mom To Death In UK

A court in the United Kingdom has heard how a cross-dressing Nigerian youth stabbed his mother to death in a frenzied attack before dressing up in women’s clothes to try and fool neighbours into thinking she was still alive.

Daily Mail reports that Emmanuel Kalejaiye, 21, inflicted more than 40 stab wounds on his mother Tolu Kalejaiye’s upper body, when he turned the knife on her at their Wickford home last September.

The prosecution alleged Kalejaiye had planned to commit the ‘perfect murder’, by killing the 44-year-old before impersonating her to allow himself precious time to dispose of her body.

But a jury of seven men and five women found the Essex University student not guilty of murder, but guilty of manslaughter by reason of diminished responsibility, due to mental health issues.

The verdict came following a two-week trial at Chelmsford Crown Court.
Judge Christopher Ball QC said: ‘The evidence shows the defendant is capable of a very deliberate and calculated act of supreme violence.

“If as a paranoid schizophrenic he is capable of this, he may present a very significant danger to anyone who upsets him for many years to come.

“I am keen to see the extent to which paranoid schizophrenia will underscore the danger he poses to others in the future to assess a proper sentence.”

Judge Ball requested a full psychiatric report into the danger Kalejaiye could be to the public ahead of sentencing in June.
The court heard Kalejaiye had written out a detailed plan including notes on how to walk in high heels and had receipts for pink Primark women’s clothing.

Police found a bloodied pink hoodie and pink trousers, which Kalejaiye had bought from Primark a month earlier, as well as scraps of paper detailing an alleged murder plot.

The jury heard how Kalejaiye, who was born in Nigeria but moved to England as a small boy, stabbed his mother to death on the morning of September 26 last year.

Receipts found at the house showed the murder weapon came from a knife block bought by Kalejaiye at Lidl just a month before the brutal stabbing.

Mrs Kalejaiye, who worked as an accountant for Camden Council, suffered more than 40 stab wounds to her head, face, neck, upper limbs and hands during the frenzied knife attack.

She called boyfriend, Leo Shogunle, on her phone during the attack at around 7.30a.m. – although he only received the message when he awoke later that morning.

Kalejaiye sat head in hands as the jury was played a disturbing three-minute voicemail in which the mother-of-two can be heard screaming “don’t stab me, don’t stab me – you’re a demon”, before the message fell chillingly silent.

Mr Shogunle raced to the home shortly after 10 a.m. on the day of the attack after hearing the message and let himself in using a spare key.

He was confronted by the bloodied body of his lover lying on the kitchen floor and Kalejaiye, who said his mother had been attacked before fleeing the scene.

Kalejaiye was later caught on CCTV at around 10.30a.m. calmly buying a can of coke and a pack of Maryland cookies at a local post office before handing himself in to police.

During police interview, he signed a confession stating: “I admit killing my mother this morning by stabbing her.
“I did this because she subjected me to a lifetime of physical and mental abuse.

“She used the Bible to rationalise what she did to me. I believe she manipulated and brainwashed me.

“I have been very depressed for a long time. I have tried to overcome it but I couldn’t take it anymore.”

Kalejaiye later changed his story saying a gang of masked men burst into his home, forced him to stab his mum then threatened him with further violence if he told police.

He told the court a gang of five white, balaclava-clad men targeted him in a suspected racist attack.

The university student went on to claim the mystery men had forced him to dress up in the ‘ill-fitting’ pink clothing and pink flip flops to move his mother’s Mercedes car – a move the prosecution claimed had been an attempt to fool neighbours into thinking his mother had driven to work.

Evidence from an expert psychiatrist stated Kalejaiye had been suffering from severe depression and paranoid schizophrenia at the time of the attack.

The court heard how fellow students at Essex University, where Kalejaiye had studied biochemistry, found him ‘weird and paranoid’.
